Five people arrested by Panchkula Police for violating curfew guidelines

Panchkula Police arrest 5 for violating night curfew

Panchkula police, on night intervening Thursday and Friday, arrested five people in three separate incidents for the violation of night curfew imposed by Haryana Government. In this regard, police filed two FIRs in Sector 14 police station and one FIR was registered in Sector 20 police station.

In light of rising Covid cases, night curfew has been imposed in Haryana and police has issued advisories and asking people to follow the guidelines threatening strict action against the defaulters.

Three youths were arrested from Sector 16 when they were spotted by police drinking alcohol in front of a restaurant beyond permitted hours. They were consuming liquor in front of a restaurant “Hot Feast” in the market beyond permitted timings. They were identified as Mohit Kumar, Ashok Kumar and Happy. Mohit and Ashok are residents of Devi Nagar, Sector 3 while Happy lives in Surajpur in Pinjore. A Case have been registered against them under sections 288, 269 and 270 of the IPC, Section 51 (B) of the Disaster Management Act and relevant sections of the Excise Act.

In another incident, Police Arrested the manager of La Pino’s pizza outlet in sector 14 for operating beyond permissible hours. Police found the back door of the outlet open at around 1 PM. Identified as Virender Kumar Chandel, the accused is a resident of Theog, Shimla and currently resides in Marranwala of the district.

Police registered a case against hime under sections 288, 269, 270 of IPC and 51 (B) of the Disaster Management Act.

In third case, police arrested Sumit Kumar, a Dhaba owner in Sector 20 for operating beyond the permitted timings. The accused is a resident of Khanpur Kalan in Sonipat. A case was registered against him under sections 188, 269 and 270 of IPC and 51 (B) of the Disaster Management Act.
