With the COVID situation getting out of control in the national capital, family members and friends have resorted to shifting their patients to other states and districts. Losing all hope of any treatment in Delhi, ambulances are heading over to other cities in search of healthcare. Tricity is one such ray of hope.

People are heading over to tricity from Delhi to get their patients treated. They are ready to pay exorbitant ambulance rental prices just to shift their loved ones to  Chandigarh, Panchkula or mohali in search of better health care.

The authorities have demonstrated mixed reactions to the situation. While Mohali DC and Panchkula CMO Dr. Jaspreet Kaur have welcomed anyone in need of help, UT Adviser Manoj Parida has requested not to put too much burden on the health system of Chandigarh. He said not to put pressure on the medical infrastructure by inviting friends and relatives to get their treatment done in Chandigarh.

Of the 297 COVID patients being treated in Nehru Extension Block of PGI, only 87 are from Chandigarh.
