Chandigarh police, known as Smart Police is facing serious allegations for being a part of unlawful activities.

Some police inspectors are facing serious allegations of making a false case and preparing fake documents. Alamjit Singh, who is a resident of Mohali filed a case against the police under CRPC 156 (3) in Chandigarh District Court.

Under CRPC 156 (3) the magistrate can order a direct police investigation into a complaint without passing any detailed order.

He has filed allegations against 7 police officers. DGP is also a party in the FIR along with the officers. The other officers include SP Crime Branch Chandigarh, SHO of Sector 19 police station, former SSP Chandigarh, and Ludhiana Police Commissioner Kuldeep Singh.

Furthermore, three more officers have been found guilty in the case. The District Court demands the status report from Chandigarh police regarding the case. The next hearing is scheduled for May 10.

The case goes back to 2022 when Chandigarh police arrested Alamjit Singh for deceiving people by becoming a false ED officer. This was untrue as per Harlav Singh Thakur, Alamjit’s lawyer.

According to Harlav Singh Rajput’s petition, under the guidance of former SSP, an FIR was registered against Alamjit Singh by preparing false evidence. Under the charges, the police had searched his office and house before his arrest.

The police confiscated various files and documents along with fake ID cards in his name. Harlav Singh Rajput has filed a complaint against the officers to the DGP.

After investigating the case, the police found out the officers falsely tried to arrest the petitioner. Even though the odds were against the officers, no actions were taken regarding the case apart from the investigation report. This proved that the DGP was also a party in the case. The lawyer has filed the petition to register a case against the officers in court.
